Dedicated to the memory of Deirdre Renwick

The Renwick family would like to say a very big thank you to everybody who has donated to the Ovacome charity in memory of Deirdre.

Your thoughtfulness, kind comments, and generosity are much appreciated by her family .

The money raised will help the charity to support other women who have been diagnosed with this aggressive form of cancer.

Thanks again - The Renwick Family x

Deirdre Renwick:

Deirdre grew up in London as one of a family of five. She was the first person from her school to go to university. She studied at Leeds University where she met her husband David at age 20.

They dated for two years, married in April 1973, and then went on to have four children. When the youngest was born she had four boys all under the age of five and half! The family moved from Sheffield to Oxford before finally settling in Winchester in 1986.

Deirdre taught for thirty years at St Peter's RC Primary School Winchester, and more recently she taught Post Graduate trainee teachers at Southampton University.

She ran the First Holy Communion programme for St Peter's Roman Catholic Church for eighteen years. This years course began in January, but much to her annoyance Deirdre was taken ill in early January and was no longer able to continue. After a number of hospital visits she was diagnosed with Primary Peritoneal Cancer on 27th January 2017 which was in a very advanced stage, and sadly she died in hospital just twelve hours later.

Deirdre will be greatly missed by her family and many others.

Donations in memory of Deirdre are to benefit 'Ovacome' (www.ovacome.org.uk) an ovarian cancer charity. There is currently no charity set up specifically for Primary Peritoneal Cancer (PPC). Therefore the family have selected this particular charity as they have been told that its symptoms are usually treated in the same way as PPC.
